So I did 265 questions in about 2.5 hours. I'm usually very slow but I didn't wanna second guess or doubt. I did that method for the HESI and passed on first attempt (hesi isn't a good indicator of nclex imo now that I ruminate on it). On nclex, I was in shocked around 100 questions and thought "if I fail, just let it end now bc it's torture" then around 200, I was like in automatic mode. And sped faster. Then I remember kaplan said something about question 264/265
At question 264, I got a SATA of what to say to the pt and 265 was the nurse is correct if she said...
So, I think I messed up big time since those two questions seems to be/are below passing range? 265 is an understanding question, regardless of right/wrong, but it's not a passing question.
Anyone else wanna share their experience? My result will be in a couple days. Kicking myself now for not going slower. I have braced myself if I need to take it again.

I know several people who got all 265 and passed, I also know several who only got 75 and failed.
You obviously understand that the more you get wrong the easier the questions that you get and vice versa. However, there are also "test" questions that do not count towards your score. They are seeing how students do on these unscored questions for possible use on future versions of the NCLEX. It's possible you passed at 263 and the last two were unscored questions.
There is honestly no real way to gauge if you passed or not based on the last question. One of my LVN classmates got 80 something questions and knows for sure she missed the last question (it was a disease process question and she looked it up after leaving the test center). Just try to relax as best you can and wait for the official results. Try not to drive yourself crazy while waiting like so many of us do.

What i want to know is how you did that much questions in 2 hours. I also got 265 and answered my last question with under 30 seconds left on the timer. 263 to 265 where all SATAs, I'm not 100 percent sure if i missed the last one or not. But it really doesn't matter as long as you where above the line, i ended up passing though.
I don't think its possible to tell if your last two questions were above or below passing standard, unless you're an expert in blooms taxonomy. With that said my last SATA was asking to list risk factors which is knowledge based.
Wish you all the best!

My last question was math - which I wouldn't think was "application level", but I'm fairly certain I nailed it, and I did pass.

Please don"t read so much into the last question. If it's all about the last question, the first 264 didn't matter and neither do the competency areas (unless that last question covers all of them).
I went 265. My last question was computation. I passed. Not saying the wait wasn't excruciating. Not saying I was confident. But I am saying trying to read anything into the type of question, the amount of time I took, etc, was a lot of wasted worry.
