Did I make a mistake??

So I already had 2 interviews with a specific manager and he called me to ask if he could interview me again, but called me yesterday because he had forgotten I had interviewed with him a couple of months ago and didn't need this interview since it was within the last 6 months. Does that mean he's not interested in hiring me? I asked if I could shadow on the unit for a day if he didn't need the interview and now that I'm overthinking it I think asking to shadow was a big mistake.... Help?!? Need insight! Did I make a mistake? Is he not interested in hiring me?
