The big thing im hearing about ec is that you may find it hard to get a job due to lack of clinicals, does ec help you find a hospital to do clinicals at?

Why would EC help you find clinicals that the EC program doesn't require? That's the whole point of the EC program, you seek out the necessary learning experiences (for you to master the material and skills) on your own, and there aren't any required, formal clinical experiences.

As far as I know, the only state where Excelsior sets up clinicals is Arizona, because our BON requires it for Excelsior grads to be licensed here.

No. The purpose of Excelsior is for students with healthcare (medic or LPN) experience to demonstrate competence in a challenge exam scenario. Hence the CPNE is a 3day clinical and lab challenge without instructions from the examiner or corrections as you attempt to demonstrate competency. If you require in person clinical experience perhaps you need to reconsider your readiness for EC and perhaps consider a more traditional LPN to RN bridge program.
Only AZ BoN requires clinical experience which is coordinated by EC (for a fee and the candidate pays extra for the clinical experience) after the student completes all of the course work/challenge exams, FCCA, & CPNE successfully.
For now I am applying to the GBON for an LPN license, I do have traditional clinical hours prior to me enrolling in EC. To be honest I did not see this coming at all. The truth of the matter is I have no problem finding jobs and maintaining my profession in NY but I will stay with my daughter until she completes high school.
