Did anyone move back home with parents to finish nursing school?

yes,I did. I am 36 and moved me and my 18 year old daughter in with my parents. It is the only way that I can get it done.

I did too. I moved myself and my kids back in with mom and dad. I pay for all of our bills, but I don't pay rent/electric. In addition, its been nice because if I have to study etc I have help. My kids aren't left alone on days when I have extra long clinical, and I can do what I have to do without feeling guilty because my kids are alone etc. It's also brought us closer together as a family.

I am looking forward to graduating, and once again getting my own home. My son wants a dog, and to have groups of friends over again.

Only 11 more months.

If I was your parent I would be very proud of you!!

I will be moving back home when my lease is up in April . It's only me and my fifteen year old daughter. I quit working so I can give all my attention to NS. I'm currently living off of savings, which will run out about the time my lease is up.

My parents are really supportive, even though I feel like I'm giving up my independence I have to remind myself from time to time its only temporary. :)

Not exactly, I used to pay half my 88 yo father's mortgage, and moved in to "keep and eye on him". But now that he's out of major debt from before, I don't pay rent - and it's me and hubby with him. He's very supportive of my school (my mom dropped out of nursing school after they got married), and he helps as much as he can around the house (he does the dishes, we rewash them). But he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's this year, and it's good that I'm here to help him out, not just with the heavy lifting of home ownership, but to keep him safe from the judgement problems that he is developing.

This started as temporary to keep him out of the poor house. But now with me not working and in school full time, and him getting a little less capable, it's a boon to us both. Of course it's been a couple of years, and I just got rid of the cruddy futon he had in the living room and moved all of my (beautiful!) furniture in...so I guess I really live here now don't I?

You never know where the path will lead, but it's a good road you're on.

I've always felt embarrased that I had to move back home, but I can get through school without having to work and my parents are supportive and they are great with my daughter. I will be forever grateful to them and I plan on rewarding them financially when I start working. I am glad I am not the only one.

You all are so lucky to have supportive parents. Very lucky.

Sure did. 27 years old. Been on my own since age 19. Left my cruddy relationship and moved home with my mom and younger sister so that I could afford to go back to school. Best decision I could have made.

i live with my mom and my 18 month old daughter. it's crowded but, my mom helps out with babysitting and i don't pay rent. what also makes it worth it is how happy my daughter is to have "nana" around all of the time :)

Actually I didn't move home per se but my parents, my husband, kids, and I all share a house now. I got laid off, my Dad got sick and can't work and since I was starting nursing school it made since to not try and get another job now. So combining incomes into one househould is a BIG help!! I recommend it. A lot of people in my class have to work and a lot are feeling very overwhelmed with ALL that is expected.

I also came back home to attend school. Funny thing is that is was actually my mothers suggestion. Let me tell you I am very grateful that she did. I know that not everyone is in the position to be able to focus on school and nothing else. This is the real world and people have jobs and families and responsibilities, but if the opportunity presents itself by all means take advantage of it. And I agree with a few other posters, we really should count our blessings and consider ourselves lucky that we have that type of support.
