Hi all,
I wanted to see if anyone here applied to Roxbury Community College's Jan 2010 Nursing Program? I applied back in October and am awaiting a decision. Just wanted to see if letters had begun to be dispersed.:redbeathe

My friend and I also applied in October. She called on Tuesday and asked for her status over the phone and gave her SSN, only to be told that decisions are not finalized and she should receive a letter next week sometime. I called right after her, spoke to the same person, and was told that I had been accepted and should receive my acceptance letter very soon. She then called back and spoke to someone different in nursing who stated that no decisions have been made.... so? who knows? but i do think we should receive our letters very soon. let's hope!
how did you do on the TEAS?
Awesome, congratulations. I am too nervous to call them. I would rather find out by letter so that I could cry in private should I not get accepted . Well I hope I get my letter soon, so that I can either a) be exstatic and join you in classes:yeah:or b) take the TEAS over and apply to NSCC September 2010 program. Oh, and how I did on the TEAS....well I did very well on the reading, but math I didn't do so hot. When RCC sent me back the letter to confirm that I applied they made a note that I did very well on the reading so I hope that's a good sign. How did you fair on the TEAS? I only think I had an overall score of 76% so I am soooooo nervous. I do however have a GPA of 3.8 and did very well on the pre-reqs. I also have all of the co-reqs done, execpt for Micro that I will complete this summer. So my heart is beating awaitng my result :redbeathe.
Don't congratulate me yet, I don't have anything in my hand to confirm... I'm still very anxious/worried!
Your situation sounds very promising! I believe the average score for accepted RCC nursing students is 72, so you are above that, and if there is any ties you will likely have an advantage with your completion of most req's and your AWESOME!!! g.p.a. i still have AP2, Micro, ENG2 to complete
I, luckily, did pretty well on the TEAS with an overall score of 86.5% and my reading (which i am told is the main component that they look at) at 99% ... my math and science were, well, not nearly as good which is ironic, seeing as they are my strongest classes ???
Anyhow, hopefully we will be congratulation each other in person come january! I really can't afford to wait for a September program!
Good Luck!
Hopefully we will see eachother January 2010:D What is your name btw..that way I will remember you if we both should get in.
i'm christina... you will probably recognize me by my red hair... IF we get in ((fingers crossed))
Hey Christina...guess what .
I Got in . So we shall be seeing eachother in Jan. I will make sure to introduce myself.

congratulations, i applied for the advance placement but haven't heard anything yet. Called several time but no good info.
thanks! and good luck to you:up: i know all too well about the anxious wait. i would go home every day and check the mail..like a crazed lunatic. i am sure you will hear something very soon. the actually phoned me though and informed me, then stated that i would receive all the details in the mail. so if you get a phone call from rcc..it just may be them. good luck!!!
awesome! i actually still haven't received my letter.... and i'm not sure i can even do that schedule if i am accepted. i initially thought the program was 3 nights but last week i was told it was 4. my dad watches my son and he was already freaking out about 3 nights so i don't think i can really ask him for another night
i might just have to wait til sept for the day program.... we'll see!
P.S. i'm super happy for you and hope you do great!!!
Christina, you really should try to stay with the program for "Jan 2010". You do not want to miss this opportunity. I know how hard it can be. I have two sons as well, ages 8 and 10. I am re-arranging my work sched and taking them out of their after school program so that I can save the money to pay my brother's girlfriend to watch them at night. So I def know how hard it can be. If you do not accept the invitation for the night program, I am pretty sure they will not consider you for the day. Since there are so many people trying to get in. I really hope I see you next month.
hey elizabeth! just thought i would update you... despite the fact that i was told via telephone that i had been accepted into the nursing program, i got a rejection letter last week. when i called to inquire they said they go by TEAS scores - and i then informed them i had a 86.5% and i know people with lower scores who had been accepted. so they then said it was due to an incomplete app (my pre req's were not finished at time of app but i went there in person to see if i could still apply as they would finish before jan and they told me YES) ... i couldn't have gone anyway, but WOW... i'm not to impressed... anyway i will be starting at quincy college in fall.. i really hope rcc works out for you :)
