I applied to Western's Compressed Nursing Program this year (to start Sept '06). I have an honors BMSc (like a BSc degree). My average was 80-82 in my first 3 yrs and a 75 in my last year and almost all my prereqs were over 80.

The requirements for the program are:

applicants must have completed, at least eight (8) university-level full-course equivalents with a minimum 75 % ( 3.0 GPA) average in the last year or the last five (5) full-course equivalents completed during their university education.

The minimum eight (8) university-level courses presented for consideration must include the following:

  • 1.0 course in human physiology, or equivalent.
  • 0.5 course in anatomy
  • 0.5 course or equivalent in each of microbiology, immunology, pathology, and pharmacology
  • 1.0 course in research & statistics, or 0.5 course in each of introductory statistics and research methodology.
  • 3.5 elective courses, of which no more than 1.5 courses are at the introductory level (equivalent to courses numbered from 020 to 099 at Western).

Specializes in Geriatrics, Med-Surg..

I got accepted into the LPN to BSN bridge program. I already have a degree as I am in my late thirties. My prerequisites for LPN which I had to do as my high school marks were only C's for many reasons, anyways my prereg's were a 93% average. My LPN average was 3.88 out of 4. I worked very hard to get these marks and hope that I don't flunk out of the BSN bridge program.
