Did Anyone Apply for Spring 2018 for SUNY Farmingdale?!?

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello all!

I didn't see anyone here on allnurses that posted about SUNY Farmingdales advanced standing transfer Nursing B.S! I applied at the end of July and so far have received a letter that i passed the first round of admissions! YAY! I thought maybe we could all support one another and say our GPAs and Prerequisite grades for anyone who is interested. I have scheduled my TEAS exam for October 2nd. If anyone is interested in knowing, I decided to go with the TEAS at a PSI center and not at farmingdale so that I will be able to send my scores to other schools if I choose. I am really hoping to get in! Nursing is my dream. :)

I already have completed all the pre req courses required by farmingdale. I am currently a senior at a CUNY school studying Health Science.

Overall GPA: 3.65

Pre Req Course Grades:

1. A and P 1 = B+

2. A and P 2 = A

3. Eng. Comp 1 = A

4. Math (Pre Cal) = B+

5. Psych = A+

6. Three Liberal Arts Courses: (will vary among individuals)

A. Eng comp 2 = A-

B. Music = A

C. History = A

Pre Req GPA: 3.7

Quick questions for anyone who got this info from them:

1. Does this years TEAS exam have a calculator? And are we allowed to use it during the math section?

2. Is this a rolling admissions type thing or do they review applications AFTER the deadline?

Thank you everyone! I hope everyone interested gets in!

DO we have to bring anything specific with us tomorrow to the welcome session?

STILL on the wait list! Hoping to hear back soon. Said we would know by mid December, but if the orientation was the 8th, wouldn't you know who was going or not?

A lot of courses you'll take in the beginning have micro as prereq, so they'll advise you to do it in the first probably two semesters of you being there

Actually there were some people there who were unsure they were going still. Don't give up yet!

Thanks so much! That definitely did make me feel a lot better

No problem :) let us know if u get in! I'm rooting for you.

Hey guys, has anyone officially been registered for their courses of next semester?

Nope. I'm not sure what's taking so long.

I was just gonna post the same question..also I can't get my farmingdale email set up, when I try to reset my password it asks for a domain name..

You cannot set up an email until we are registered. It's giving me anxiety idk what's taking so long!!!!

Hello everyone. So I called the nursing department and asked if the registration began and she said we just have to wait because they are electing the DEU students first and then we will be registered after that. That seems weird to me. I didn't even choose schedule B! Lol

Hello ! I am new to this thread but I've been in the orientation. I was also notified that we are not registered yet because they have to know first who are the students attending the southside DEU. We need to wait because those who don't get in it will have to be considered to their second preference hospitals too.

(Don't hate me pls ! ) I am actually one of the ones notifed to do the next step (essay) for the DEU. But I am hesitant. Do you have any information about it? I thought I wouldn't take the opportunity anymore because I personally thought it's better to get exposure on different hospitals throughout the program. UNTIL, I called to the department and asked them about pros and cons. 1 is you know you'll be there each semester and 2nd there's a greater chance they'll hire you after the program because they've known you for years. Now I am confused. Can you give me any opinion? I only have until tomorrow for my deicision to come in or not because they'll be closing for the break. HELP !!!
