Are there any dialysis outpatient clinics in Chicago that take patients with trach collars still on O2. I know an individual that is on the trach collar who requires 28%-35% fio2. They are in the process of being evaluated for capping of their trach but will be discharged home soon. We have been told no clinics accept patients requiring trach collar and so they are in the process of having family taught to provide dialysis at home(there is a family member that is an acute care nurse that will be trained as well). This person is against going to a SNF as they've been hospitalized and in rehab for 7 months already. I'm curious as a controlled environment for dialysis seems safer. Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated.
Don't know of any. If you need variable oxygen, it's SNF.
Home hemo, all the way. With private insurance, one can even have a nurse (usually lvn) come out and do it for them.
