Critical pay at Fresenius Medical Care

I work for Fresenius Medical Care and worked a shift at another clinic and was promised "critical pay". On my "pre" hourly breakdown prior to my check my critical hours were shown, at a rate double my pay, which is what my boss told me it would be. When I was paid, my critical pay was not there, nor was it there the following week. I am now being told it will be between 2-3 dollars per hour and they are " trying to determine the pay grid for that clinic". Does anyone KNOW what the official critical pay is for charge RNs?

There is no company wide standard on critical pay. It is determine by the RVP/GVP for each region, when there is a need. So, there is no "official critical pay" scale. Regardless of the amount, if you were promised critical pay and it has not been paid you need to call HR.

when your manager closes the clock, he/she is to add the different differentials such as critical needs, float pay, preceptor pay and the amount of hrs, charge to the appropriate unit prior to closing. He/she can complete a timecard adjustment and fax to payroll to be added the the following paycheck. But like the post earlier, there is no set critical pay grid, it is approved by the RVP depending on the need and is clinic specific. Most RVPs have gone away from it.

From my personal experience with FMC in the Tennessee Valley area (North 'Bama to Southern Middle TN) the going rate for "critical needs" RN's has been an extra $10/hr, but like the others have said, it completely depends on your Area Managers.
