Helloooo! Happy New Year!!

Last year I arranged for the local dental hygienist  to come to talk about dental hygine for K-3. K-3 thought it was great. This year I'd like to expand and do a bit more.

Does anyone have a dental day at school as well? Any ideas you'd be willing to share please?

We use a mobile dentist to come and see all students with permission from the parents.  It is awesome!!  Most of my students have not seen a dentist ever and they receive wonderful care.  They can conduct cleanings, screenings, x rays, extractions, fillings, etc.  There should be one in your area if you google it.  Best thing ever for these kiddos!

The mobile dentist bills insurance including medicaid, they will also give waivers for donated care if needed, and all others pay a flat fee.  I fee for ours is $44.

We used to - but it was hygienist coming, so just cleaning and referrals.

But the numbers of families opting in was pretty low...lower than I expected given the population.

I ended up discontinuing it due to that, but have toyed with the option of trying again, but this time exploring the option for minor dental work (cavities, x-ray option) if I can find a mobile provider match.
