Hello!
I am moving to Boca from Tampa in 2 weeks - looking at these 3 hospitals. Any words of wisdom/advice/insight? Looking for days med-surg, hopefully in neuro.
Thank you so much!

If you are an experienced nurse then you just get a job but not a new graduate. I have been looking for jobs in these areas for the longest time but none so far. God luck.
I have 6 months med/surg experience - I hope that is enough to get me in somewhere. . .
FYI I got the first job I applied for on a neuro unit in a big hospital so I am happy

Hi Lola77,
Can you please elaborate on your experience at Delray? I start there in one week from today and it seems that I have only heard negative things about Delray. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

OMG "Hellray" I worked there more than 15 yrs ago, it was awful then. The ruddest patients and doctors in the world. Horrible nurse to patient ratio, never enough supplies. Definately a FOR PROFIT hospital with no consideration to patients and staff. RUN RUN do not walk away from there, your license is in jeopardy.

Omg every calls delray "hellray". I been there to sit with pts. I am a home health lpn with 2yrs exp and a cna/hha b4 that since 05. I've been with brch home health dept for 4yrs and I love it but they have no home health positions now. This is the worstest season ever. I work for 3 other agenies and the only place that give me work is hospice. Well through my home health experiences iv been to many hospitals in palm beach and dade. I love brch as a home health lpn the pay is 20lpn and 25rn no benefits. I heard the staff rns start at 20per hour. Its a wonderfull place to work the nurses and pct only can wear baby blue or white scrubs. All tenant healthcare hospitals are outdated and dirty looking. I've been to the tenet hospiatals delray, good samaritan and florida medical. I also used to work at a rehab in boca and everytime we would get an admission from delray paperwork would be missing 90 % of the time.I network with many nurses in the broward, palm beach and dade county areas. Never been to w.boca so IDK. One of my nurse friends left BRCH and went to north broward in pompano bch,fl because they gave her more money and she's an rn.
Brownie - what floor will you be working on? There is good and bad at Delray. I got hired into HORRIBLE but I transfered to a floor where i am very happy. yes, Delray is a for profit and that is obvious everywhere but there are good places within the hospital.
