Delayed TB response to skin test?

Published

Hi

I placed a pod on a patient 5/17 it was negative.

Now today she came to me saying she's been messing at it and t was about 25mm. She not having any symptoms just night sweats but is menopausal. I've been looking on CDC but not sure how common this is. Plus I'm worried because what if other patients, myself and family are exposed? Any advice or articles would really help. Tia

How is TB spread? What are the symptoms of ACTIVE TB? If you have a positive Mantoux, what is the next step?

What does "messing at it" mean?

This needs to be referred to the provider who ordered the original test for consideration of the need for additional/definitive testing and/or evaluation for some sort of local infection in progress.

Ok, so update. The Dr says it's cellulitis. From the tb shot the nurse who gave it probably didn't clean it well enough plus she had other pumps and now is on abt
