August 21 at 11am CDT. It hardly seems real since I've been continuously enrolled in coursework or dissertation work since Fall 2014 and that was after only about half a year break after finishing my BSN

My chair is very optimistic that there should be no problems having my dissertation accepted by the other committee members so hopefully in a few weeks I'll be completing this degree after so much time.

Next big task, radically changing career paths after 26 years as a bedside nurse. I have a few leads but nothing solid at this point.

Thank you!! It is a huge relief. Of course, the paperwork is still processing and I'm not sure they will actually confer the degree for a few more weeks though I do have a letter from the Dean stating I had completed my PhD

Also, I guess because there are so few people within the graduate school they only have a commencement at the end of the Spring semester, but I do definitely plan to drive the 5 hours down there next May and walk!

Yay, that's awesome! I'm sure it will be even more of a relief when the paperwork is finished. Good for you that you're going to drive down for spring commencement! You earned it!
