defeating NCLEX the second time

Published

I am composing this thread in the hope that I will inspire and better equip other people who are in their journey of defeating NCLEX. But, before I start, I'll mention that English is not my primary language. I moved to the U.S. eight years ago. So, I have some additional challenges when it comes to taking such an exam and studying.

I graduated nursing school last August 2015. I took NCLEX the first time on October of the same year. I did 265 questions; and after, the exam I knew I had failed. I used UWORLD as my main source of review. After finding out for sure that I had failed, I was very depressed. But, fortunately I had a good support system. I rescheduled another date for the exam. I still used UWORLD, the only difference was that I made sure to read the rationale and understand it.

The second attempt, I still got 265 questions. The final question was not even a "select all that apply" type question. I had 3 select all that apply questions before that final multiple choice question though. Since, the first time my gut feeling that I'd failed was right, this time I was 101 percent sure I had failed AGAIN. I went home after the exam and did a PVT and.....this time it did not let let me register. My husband told me that it maybe too early to do it but I did it anyways. Less than 24 hours, I checked BON and there my name with my licensed number.

i prayed so hard and I feel that with hard work and Jesus's guidance everything is possible. My plea to everyone who failed is please don't give up. And I think Uworld is the best source of review. Also, NSCBN is good but too much information so is time consuming. Don't be too concerned if you have a low score doing Uworld, just be sure to read READ read and to thoroughly understand the rationale and above all do a lot of practice questions and pray.

Congratulations:yes:
