Hello everyone,
I am a pre-nursing student, I just started my A&P 1 class and I feel extremely stressed out. How do some of you deal with the stress that comes with Anatomy class or how have some of you gotten through it? I am stressing out ALL the time ... Plus I have my TEAS test coming up, ((stressing me out even more))) which I have no time to study for because of Anatomy.. any motivational advice or tips on dealing with stress?

Plan your studying. Write out your test dates on a calendar and then the days before that plan what you'll study so it's nice and spread out till the test. I usually leave the night before as a "review" study day to go over everything once before the exam.
That helped me a lot so I could concentrate on one thing at a time and not worry about chapter 6-7 while studying 3-5 if that makes sense.

If it's anatomy itself that's worrying you, a better way to feel comfortably in command of the topic would go a long way to helping you relax.
My best advice to students is to get the Anatomy Coloring Book (and the Physiology Coloring book for when you take that), available online from your favorite bookseller, free 2-day shipping from Amazon for students. This is not a joke and not a comic book, but a real, good resource that my students said saved their behinds in this class.
Get the hard copy, not the online download or the iPad version, because part of the reason it's so good is because it engages different parts of your brain when you use your colored pencils to help you retain the material.
There are no shortcuts for A&P because they’re a big part of being a nurse. This is definitely NOT a course you will pass and put out of your head, because after you take it and get into the nursing coursework it will be an integral part of the critical thinking process; your faculty will expect that you remember it. These books will be excellent reference for you when you start seeing real patients. This is unlike any other education you have ever had, trust me. Get the books.

Personally, I LOVED anatomy when I went through both sections of it. It is true that it is the foundation to most of what you learn later in nursing classes, key concepts are based off of what you will be learning. Try to focus on anatomy. If you need to readjust your schedule for more study time, go to the anatomy lab and study the models, try using whatever resources you have available. I also think the colouring books are a great idea. The key thing is to make how you learn the material personal, we all learn differently. Think about how you learn best and I an assure you there are going to be study tools that you can use.

Just prioritize your studying! Do lots of flashcards, whatever way is better for your studying. Take breaks. You'll be just fine with studying the TEAS in anatomy. Just make sure you study the math, phys science, and chem for the TEAS.
