It depends on the course. Are you specifically asking about the validations weekend, or clinicals in general. I believe for most of the classes it is 40-75 hours of clinical time. I did mine all at once.

Hi everyone!
I've been speaking with Deaconness about their online-ASN program and I was a little confused.. The lady there said she wasn't sure but it's probably 8 hours a day 5 days a week?!?!?! but might be a little less since I'll be working one on one instead of in a large class.. Is this true? I mean to me that sounds crazy.. My local college's ASN program requires that you have one 12 hour shift and one 8 hour shift a week...
Can any Deaconness grads or current students please explain to me about how many hours a week they spend on clinicals?!

I'll try to help you and I encourage you to call the school again as things change from semester to semester.

Each clinical semester varies in time required in the clinical setting. The most is during the first med/surg rotation which was 216 hours total. How you complete the hours is up to you, the facility and your preceptor. For my first med/surg rotation I had a preceptor who worked 12hr shifts 2 days a week and every other weekend. I went to clinical only the days my preceptor was working. During another clinical semester at a different facility I had two preceptors who only worked part time so I did my clinical hours split between the two.

The school requires you to keep a log each clinical semester with the dates and time you attend clinical. Both you and your preceptor sign this at the end and it gets submitted to the school.

Each student completes the same required amount of clinical time but the days and times will vary depending on each situation.

Beginning this January the school has gone to trimesters and while I don't know if that impacts the clinical rotations, it is just one of the changes that has taken place since I graduated.
