Deaconess clinicals in Illinois

Published

Hi,

I am new to this board and want to thank you all for the wealth of information here. My question is...

Is there anyone out there from Illinois who did or will attend the Deaconess adn program? If so, would you mind telling the names of hospitals that were willing to host your clinicals? I understand that I need to arrange this myself but I wanted to find out if it had been done before in order to give myself some hope :)

Thanks,

Barb

Hello, not in Illinois, but I am a Deaconess student. I understand the drive to find out as much as possible to see if you think it will work out for you, I've been there too. Since you may not find many people on here with specific names of hospitals, I have a suggestion.

The clinical liason for DCN is a really nice lady named Julie Huebner. Her phone number is 314-768-3860. She should be able to tell you what hospitals in Illinois have worked with the school, or at least be able to direct you to more information.

Hope that helps. Good luck!

Heather

Thank you for the info. I will call her.

Barb

Hello Barb,

I'm so excited that I found somebody in the Deaconess program from Illinois! Where do you live in Illinois? I'm curious if you have had any luck with Clinical sites? I haven't heard anything yet, but I'm hoping I get matched soon. Hope to talk to you soon!:lol2: :balloons: :nurse:

hi my name is Twajuana and I start my clinicals in summer, and I don't know anything yet.

I heard you can now do them at Kenneth Hall Regional in East St. Louis. Don't know if that's true or not, but that's what I heard.

Namaste & Hola, So glad to see other people who are registered with Deaconness. I live in Iowa, and I'm registering soon. I hope when clinical times come, that I can go somewhere not too far either. Have been PCT for years, and used to work at Carle Foundation Hospital in Champaign, IL as a ER/Convenient Care registrar. With those experiences I think I will really enjoy a clinic setting, that offers emergency cares. Since my father is hispanic I also am teaching myself more development of my spanish, so that I can use those skills also to help medically in the latin community. The language is as broad as the nursing field itself! Well, good luck to everyone in their endeavors!

Hi fellow Deaconess classmates! I start at Deaconess next month, and hoping to hear if I've been matched with a clinical site soon. I was just curious as to weather any of you distance learners have already taken A&P I & II? Do they need to be taken concurrently with Deaconess' curriculm or can you take them any time. Thanks!
