Hello everyone. I haven't been on in quite some time and I have a question for those of you who may have experience with DaVata. A recruiter called me today concerning an RN Dialysis job in a town near me. I had applied over the weekend online. The recruiter and I have set up a phone interview for tomorrow at 4pm central time. My questions:
what will he ask me?
what are they looking for in responses?
How can I sell myself to them?
I haven't had a phone interview in ages and am just afraid I may say something silly.
Any advice from anyone would be helpful because right now I am really quite blank.
Thanks!

They will ask you about your background. Be honest with them. They will ask you about a situation where you were challenged, and how did you deal with it. They may talk to you about attendance and work ethic. They will discuss DaVita values, and the importance of them. They are ... attitude, teamwork, continuous improvement, etc, etc. Good companny to work for. HARD work. Davita tries to take care of there own, and the community. Sell that and you'll be in. Good Luck. I've worked with Davita for 10 years. I'm an FA. Facility Adminstrator

I had a phone interview with Davita just now. Its lasted maybe 10 mintues. She asked me about my employment, a couple of gaps in it and explained a little about the position as well as the travel requirements for the first 90 days. She said if I were selected for a formal interview I would know in a few days. Does this sound correct? I am really nervous about this. I am wanting to get into dialysis but there is sooo much negative posted about Davita on this board. I've never heard anything negative about them in the community I live in tho' nor w/some of the patients who came into the hospital that were using them.

Davita senior management just recently had a wonderful time selling off large shares of their Davita stock. The largest seller was their CEO Kent Thiry. As a result of the recently passed health care reform, Davita can see that their higher paying private insurance patients will probably shrink resulting in falling profits.
Davita continues to have regulatory problems throughout their system. Davita has poor management with many rookies corporate managers that do not have health care management backgrounds. I find it difficult to understand the rationale of hiring managers that have never managed a health care facility in their careers. Reimbursement? CMS Compliance? Infection Control? Physical Plant? I guess some genius thinks it does not matter.
Finally, Davita has angered many health care professionals in their communities that may result in greater regulatory and reimbursement problems in the future. They do not practice keeping up relationships as stated in their vision and mission.
Understanding all of this, I think any health care professional should try to avoid what may become another disaster for Davita.
I thank you for this post. It all seemed too good to be true. I've decided to go another route..
