Dallas New RN jobs

Published

Hello,

I have been applying everywhere in Dallas including Baylor, Parkland, Doctor's, Denton, Methodist, Cooks, even UBH even looked at talking to headhunters. Still nothing. Yes I know it is hard in this area to find a job without experience but could the fact that I have not relocated there yet have anything to do with it? My son is in school in El Paso and won't transfer to Dallas until the summer. I do not want to take anything here because I feel it isn't fair to be trained knowing that I am going to moving there when he goes. I am a single parent and cannot afford to run 2 households. Can anyone give me advice about taking a job in one city for a few months is even a wise idea just to get some experience. Thank you

Come on....30 views and no replies. Wow looks like I put in an application on allnurses instead of a question.

Think about it as if you were the hiring manager. They know about the new grad hell just as well as we do. They know that all out of state new grads are looking for is experience so the can go back home and work.

What is sadder than that is that all the old nurses with all that great experience are slowly leaving the work place and with them their wisdom. We'll be coming in and have nobody to teach us...

I dont have any help but just letting you know you are not alone. I know how frustrating it is, we moved here about a year and a half ago because of my husbands job. I finished school in September and have been looking ever since for a job in the fort worth area. It is very discouraging! Best of luck to you!

I think right now is all about being relentless...

I went back to my university career center to get some help and part of my problem was the resume. I revamped it here and applied at 130 PM to a NICU. At 445 I had a call from the unit director wanting an interview. :)

Great news!

Can you share any of the tips your university career center provided in terms of revamping your resume? Thanks in advance!
