Hello there folks,
I'm looking into starting a LPN program in Michigan which is a yr, after that my husband and I are moving to Nashville. I would like to know that pay for LPN's in that area. I've done a search but all the info is 2-4 yrs old. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks:up:

When I went to orientation for the LPN program at TTC, the nurse director said that LTC paid as high as $25 an hr and less in hospitals. She did not specify a pay range for hospitals.

I wouldn't get my hopes up for $25 an hour in Nashville as an LPN even in a LTC facility as new grad RNs only make $20 an hour in a hospital.
True but that is what we were told. I wouldn't know because I have no medical background. I'm taking the LPN course as a stepping stone to RN. I'm not doing it for the money as the job that I have now is a great paying job. My employer will only pay for business related degrees. With only one income coming in while in nursing school(my husband's), it's more feasible for me to go for the LPN first. It's also easier to get in an RN program if you are a lisenced LPN. I plan to get a job as an LPN so that I can get assistance with paying for my RN. So for me pay isn't a big issue. The big issue for me is the benefits(tuition reimbursement).

I graduated this summer as an LPN, and while interviewing I was quoted new-grad pay ranging from from $13 (VA) to $18 (agency). I'm toward the upper half of that range at my job, and the salary range for this position is $15-$28 although I don't know how long it would take to get to the top- years I'm guessing.

Any new LPN at Tri-Star (HCA) hospital in Nashville. Full time or Part time is $13 an hour. PRN is $17. I asked yesterday the HR lady at Summit Medical Center. I work there currently as a tech so she didn;t mind just telling me staight out. : ( Nursing homes start out at approx. $19 an hour.
