hello everyone..
I was curious if anyone has heard about the "new format" of the NCLEX? Someone told me that they were adding short answers? Does anyone know if this is true or not? I thought that since the NCLEX is timed, it wouldn't make sense, but I am not sure.
I heard matching and fill in the blank too.
Thanks for your help.

No short answer questions currently, but there are fill-in-the-blank questions where you're asked to make a calculation and enter the correct number in a space. Here is a link from NCSBN regarding the alternate format questions:

On that same site, you can also access the 2006 Candidate Bulletin, which is full of general information about the NCLEX. A recommended read so that you understand the exam before you go in to take it.

The only new format I had involved "Choose all that apply."
I hate those.

I only had select all that apply too!!! I would have loved to have gotten a graph instead...............LOL I am so glad I didn't fret over the fill in the blank too much. ON the practice cd's if you did not type it in exactly it counted it wrong so if the answer had "mg" in it and you put miligrams you got it wrong.....I spent too much time worrying about that!!!!
