CT Community College Prereqs...

Will this benefit me in the long run and possibly improve my odds of acceptance. So I am not putting the hens and eggs in one basket. I know that the CC program is very competitive to be accepted into. I am also taking prerequisites for 2 state BSN programs and an ABSN program in the State.

I am taking Pre Calc this summer and going to take my first TEAS test in September.

Taking the traditional prereq of AP1 in the Fall. I am also taking Chem 1 in the fall. I know you have to take Intro Chem, but would taking Chem 1 be beneficial and would I still be able to apply to the CC program?

I plan to do AP 2 in the Spring I know that you can apply to the CC program on the promise you pass AP 2 in the Spring. Debating to take Micro or Physics in the Spring. Thinking Micro.

Appreciate the feedback.

You can still apply to the Chem 1 class, the requirement is Concepts of Chemistry or higher. It won't make a difference for the CC programs but it could be beneficial if you are applying to other schools or hope to continue on to an RN to BSN, as some schools don't accept the intro level class. It is the same with any math class you take, intermediate algebra is the requirement but pre calc would satisfy that. Statistics would be another option there. Physics is not a CC requirement but Micro is, so I would suggest taking Micro.

I dropped out of pre Calc it was horrible. Did it online and math is something I should not do online.

Now I can only apply to CCs this year. Not sure if I have to take Chem 1 later on that will be a pain.
