Did you apply? What are your stats like? If you get in will you go or do you have (an)other preferred option(s)? What things have you heard about the program?

4.0 prereq and 3.48 undergrad. I also have a master's, 3.8 GPA.

Nicely done. I'll have to work on my academic end. I was hoping my work experiences, hours of patient care, and certifications would do the trick. Can't fix my undergrad GPA, but maybe my prereqs. (2.0 undergrad, 3.4 prereqs taken after undergrad) Best of luck on your journey into nursing!

@lvsfrmthvn Thanks for all that great info on what to expect. Do you happen to know how many waitlisted people were in your cohort? Thanks!

@hopefullyin11111 have you heard any updates on waitlist? I’m still waiting to hear.

@tatiana8284 No not yet... I've been checking my e-mail every day but nothing yet. I talked to (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) on the 5th and she said they have until the week of August 8th to let us know. I wanna ask her for an update but don't wanna keep contacting her since I already did. Let me know if you hear anything please!

Has anyone turned in their applications for Spring 23’ yet?

Same! Super nervous, but I’m hoping I get in. Most worried about my Statement of Purpose. What are your stats?

Oh that’s awesome! I have a 3.8 GPA, 3.6 pre req GPA. Not a high pre req GPA but hoping my volunteer hours and CNA work makes up for it!

Hi there! I'm currently in cohort 5 and I can answer some common questions I saw:

  1. Textbooks
    1. You will receive a textbook bundle with a discount code. These are the books you need for semester 1 and 2. They make it seem like you NEED to buy through the publisher, however it's not necessary. You may be able to find the textbooks for cheaper, but the important part is the access codes for online homework. I found it more worth it to buy the bundle for the first half, but not the second half. Some people opted to not buy the bundle and just buy access codes as needed. Prepare yourself--bundle #1 is EXPENSIVE (like over $800).
  2. Working
    1. I personally worked per diem as a medical receptionist. I know people who worked part time (some people even did night shift) as CNAs/restaurant hosts/ED techs. You need pretty good time management to work part time. I know I can't do part time and I'm fortunate to live at home with my parents and not worry about many bills.
  3. Schedules
    1. Your schedules will be made for you. The time you leave clinicals will entirely depend on your instructor. Some people left around 4-5 pm. Others left at 6:30-7 pm. Just prepare yourself for 12 hour days (6:30-18:30) and be pleasantly surprised if you leave early.
  4. When will I get my schedule?
    1. You will learn that you will sometimes wait a very long time for things. The faculty is trying their best, just be patient!
  5. Did I do a video interview?
    1. Yes, to my knowledge only one person did not do a video interview for my cohort.
  6. How many people got accepted into my cohort?
    1. 41

I hope this helps! Good luck to anyone reapplying for Spring! ?

Thank you for your help! ?

Do you recall how your professor for pathophysiology was? Were they helpful on what to expect on the exams, or were they more figure it out yourself?

Does anyone know around what month/time we will get emails about Spring ‘23??

Besides CSUN, where else is everyone applying for Spring?

You're amazing, thank you so much. Do you mind sharing where you got your malpractice insurance and BLS cards? I've seen BLS classes range from $25 to $200 so not really sure where to start!

NSO for !

For BLS, I just went on the AHA website and found a class near where I live! If you work at a hospital and they offer BLS, take it there! It will most likely be AHA.
