Csula 2016 nursing questions!

Published

Hello everyone!

I am a current California Community College student, and need some clarification for CSULA's nursing programs.

1. Their point system for pre requisite courses is as follows:

2.75-2.99 = 1 point

3.00-3.19 = 2 points

3.20-3.39 = 4 points

3.40-3.59 = 6 points

3.60-3.79 = 8 points

3.80-4.00 = 10 points

My first question is: (For example) Is a 3.6 GPA student looked at as the same as a 3.7 student? Since this is a point system?

2. If I turn in ALL my documents and official transcripts before the deadline, will I be notified sooner about admission/denial?

I will have all of my pre-requisite courses completed by Summer 2015. If I submit my nursing school application (I am aware of the general application for admission beforehand) sometime in September, will I get a sooner notification?

3. I attended an LVN school for less than 2 months in 2013. Do I have to notify the school about that?

The only reason I withdrew from the program was for the reason that I wanted to go for RN. No federal loans were taken, and I doubt anything will show up in a background check.

Thank you so much in advance!

1. Yes, in the end what matters is what your total score is not where you scored high and where your scored low.

2.No, they have to look at all of the applicants before they make a decision so you will get notified at the same time as everyone else.

3. The application asks if you've been enrolled in another nursing program before and the reason why you left so I would include it just to be safe. I would call the nursing office and ask if the fact that you attended an LVN program affects your chances of getting in though.

I started a thread for us CSULA Fall 2016 nursing hopefuls! I figured it would be nice to have a place where we can ask questions, offer advice/support, etc. Check it out, so we can keep in touch and help each other out! :) If you search "CSULA Fall 2016 Nursing (BSN)" you should be able to find it!
