Hello, I'm a senior in high school right now and I am seriously considering becoming a CRNA. We have to do a senior project on the careers of our choice and it has to be something specific.
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to possible projects that I could do. The history of Anestesia was suggested to me but I wanted to look into other possibilties. My teacher said that I could job shadow a CRNA and keep a journal of different things that we did throughout the day. These are a few ideas that I've heard but I wondered if anyone else could throw out some suggestions for me.
Thanks

I really think your instructor is on the right track with you shadowing a CRNA. Believe me after a day or two of real world anesthesia you will find something that interests you enough to write about. Much more fun that writing about the history of anesthesia. Good luck!!!
Thanks for the feedback!
I was also considering on putting together some sort of display that compares and contrasts 4 or 5 different fields of nursing. Using careers like CRNAs, Nurse Practitioner, Surgical Tech. Nurse, or Forensics Nursing.
that would be a good choice also. FYI surgical techs are not nurses. However your OR circulator is a nurse.

KaleDavid,
Both of your ideas sound very strong. Be sure to check out the American Association of Nurse Anesthetist's website at AANA.com
It will provide you with some very good information.
Good Luck
