Has anyone had any portion of their CRNA student loans payed by an employer? Just starting school and already overwhelmed by my BSN loans stacking up with DNAP loans. I don't have much hope in HRSA- I applied twice with my BSN loans with a DTI of >200%. Any info would be appreciated!

Hey you could look into army reserve. They are actively looking for CRNA's.They have loan replacement and might even give you a stipend for school. I look into it after school. Really wanted to do it but with a wife and kids it was a little bit too much of a time commitment.

Good luck

Yup military would be your best bet if HRSA doesn’t work out. Although, you’d be taking a big pay cut if you go the military route. Some healthcare system, like Northwell, will pay you the difference in pay when you get deployed, if you are in the reserves. This way you get to keep your crna civilian pay and take advantage of the military benefits like housing allowance and tuition reimbursement.

Also, some jobs do offer tuition reimbursement in their contract but this is usually something you’d look into once you finish and are already a licensed crna.

Thanks for all the responses! I think I would be medically disqualified for the military so I am mostly interested in civilian jobs that may offer reimbursement. Does anyone have any experience with this? I am just curious about how commonly this is offered/how much on average is offered.

I’ve searched crna jobs on indeed and saw a couple jobs with tuition reimbursement offers. so yeah they do exist. also, I’ve heard of gov programs that will forgive a good portion of your loan if you work in approved facilities located in underserved communities.
