The format came out funny when I copied/pasted it so I would like feedback on the content. The relevant clinical experience section seems wordy to me - is all that information really necessary? Also if you have any general advice for job searching as a new grad please share! Thank you.

NOTE: I had to omit my OB-GYN clinical time (56 hours) because it went over one page.

Hi and welcome to allnurses!

I think your resume is adequate. I do propose some minor tweaking. I would rename Relevant Clinical Experience as Student Clinical Experience for clarity. Prospective employers know you have not practiced in a professional nursing role so an attempt to mask something other than student clinical experience may be met with suspicion.

Also, were you paid in that last entry you had under Work Experience? is that part of an overseas elective? If that is the case, I would not list it under Work Experience. I would add it to Student Clinical Experience or even create a new tab such as Volunteer Experience.

Lastly, do you have extracurricular activities such as membership in any school or nursing-related organizations? did you hold positions in them? Those are good ones to list if you have them.

Good luck to you.

Thank you for responding Juan - I will make those changes. Unfortunately I don't really have any extracurricular activities - I studied and worked too much! :cheeky:

How did you end up over one page? I have 6 jobs with details, 3 degrees, AND additional information on 1 page. I will give you the same advice I give all new grads. Don't tell me your responsibilities, tell me your accomplishments. Make yourself stand out. If you don't have anything that makes you stand out, go get it so you can put it in the resume. Get rid of the objective, I know why you are applying. The Microsoft Office piece is not all that relevant. The Epic piece is VERY relevant given the number of hospitals switching over. Did you ever use Meditech, Cerner, Allscripts, etc? If so, list them.
