Hi everyone,

I got into a BSN-DNP program and am planning to work full time the first year. I'll probably drop down to part-time/per diem for the last 3 years. I am a pediatric cardiac critical care nurse (going on 4 years with experience in the PICU) and have been thinking about switching roles and applying for a critical care transport RN position. My SO will be a fellow at a new hospital this fall and I am moving with him, so I figured this would be a good time to make the transition.

My question is, do you think the stress of learning a completely new role will be too much to handle in addition to school? The entire first year of school is didactic learning, I will not be required to do any clinicals/hands on skills until the 2-4th year. Thanks for your input/advice in advance!

edit: I'm hoping to learn new clinical skills/knowledge and looking to get away from the bedside.
