For anyone who went to a vo tech school-what credits transferred when you went to your ADN school?

Nothing transferred from the trade school LVN program. The ADN program simply issued me 1 year worth of en-bloc credit for having an LVN license. The only courses that they accepted were those prerequisites that I took at a community college.

I took all of my pre-reqs at a community college because I was told by advisers that most tech school credits do not transfer. This was do to the way that credits were awarded. At community college, my classes ranged from 2-6 credits. My tech school gave credit hours. Which to this day I still don't understand why they used that system. Basically every hour spent in clinical or in class I was awarded an hour.
Even after sending my official transcripts from one community college to another. I still had to apply for advance standing in which I had to go to my old school and retrieve all the syllabus(es/i?) from my science courses. The schools are about 40 miles apart, both and ADN nursing schools, and in the same state so I really don't know why there would be such a discrepancy.

The LPN to RN bridge class I'm looking at will give 16 credits to the LPN which is all the first year nursing class credits, they also give you credit for courses taken at colleges. So, I'm good for another 9 credits toward the total of 40 credits in the first year. And some of the 2nd year.

Haven't finished my LVN program yet but none of my credits from tech school will transfer. When I was looking around for LVN/LPN programs around my area, i came upon this school and talked to some of their students. They said after they finished their LVN program, they would be eligible to bridge right away to the RN program at any community college... But I'm pretty sure everyone has to finish up the pre requisites to even apply to an RN program, unless your going to do a private program.
