Credentialing during assignment?

Should the Credentialing Agent (who initially collected your requisite documents prior to your assignment) be also providing your facility with updated RN documents as needed?

I was surprised to be contacted directly by my facility (with whom I'm currently on assignment) about any documentation that may be out-of-date. I thought my facility would contact my Credentialing Agent for that info?

Facilities are better than most agencies about keeping up with credentials. Because they have to be, they will be the ones getting dinged. It is easier to go right to the source, you may not have updated the agency, but are holding the credential in question.

There are some facilities who don't want the hassle, and require all travelers to have credentials that are current through the proposed assignment period or they won't take them. Which certainly can exacerbate the last minute scrambling to get everything the hospital wants.
