CPR is PAINFUL!

Published

I just had to sort of vent somewhere, all of my friends (non-nursing/medical students) look at me like I am crazy when I tell them this!

I had my BLS CPR certification class today, which is a prereq for the program I am trying to get in to. I am in so much pain!!! My knee's are bruised, my wrists are bruised and cut, my back hurts...holy cow. I mean it was very valuble, and I needed dthe training, but man, I hurt. I feel like I did a 2 hour workout or something. My instuctor was saying that 20 minutes of continous cycles is equivalent to close to 150 burned calories.

Has anyone else been really sore after this class?

I always am sore for a couple of days after a CPR renewal course. Doing CPR correctly pops a lot of calories, to say nothing of putting you in some uncomfortable positions and making you switch those positions quickly. I've always found the classes to be more of an endurance contest than anything else.........but they come in handy when the real thing happens!
