Hey girl, congrats on getting your date. I passed in Syracuse and I loved the hospital and the CA/CE's. Let me know if you have any questions. :-)

i tested there about 2 weeks ago, i love it. the ca is so motherly, wonderful, nice. the ce are very down to earth, one of them actually was telling me about her family... it was nice. be careful, some people might make you feel you are not doing as much but cpne is so doable, for my labs i had to make up my wound because when i got there and started doing my labs i was like "really that's it" got a little carried away but made it up the following day no problem. the patients all have private rooms and very stable patients. my good friend actually will be testing there this weekend just spoke with her this morning even though she has not been studying day and night i know she will do great. you will do great!!! good luck

stay away from all the negative comments and don't worry about other people's studying habbits everyone study differently, a girl i met there ready the study guide only no workshop pass.... you all can do this.

good luck!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Beach and Westpalm,

Thanks

hey beach and westpalm,

where can i read your journals???

thanks

c

i did not write a journal :) i have just been spending time with my 13 month old daughter i felt like i missed so much... i just noticed after cpne she had 5 teeth lol, and grew so much. my advise to you, do read the study guide, forward ec questions directly it kills me when people are asking other students that haven't even took the cpne... do set up the 30 minutes call, i set up a lab a week prior to cpne but i did practice couple times a week with beachie. i did not do a workshop but if you think that might help you do it, i have a friend that did an online workshop only and she did just fine, i have another that read the study guide 3 weeks prior to the cpne she did fine, oh on the day of cpne this one friend came to my hotel i showed her how i was doing my wound she went and did it exactly how i showed her pass... and i failed it :) made it up the following day using the parachute pass! my biggest advice to you is stay away from the negative comments, the ca where i tested like i said on my previous comment is wonderful, the ces are excellent on my ivp when i picked up my first flush she got up from her chair to me that was a clue "please aspirate lol" one of them filled out the box under the careplan section for me, one of them pulled the curtains for me, all those are ground for failure... that's to show you they really don't want you to fail for something simple. oh, my last advise, do dress professional i think they like that... i got compliment on my outfit don't know if they are suppose to but couple of them did :) and don't wear heels lol i did wore a 3inch heel i took them off prior to my labs lol, of the the ce started laughing :) they are so relax.....it's a stressful experience away from your family... i have been so exhausted yesterday was my first time posted something here.... just needed to get away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

good luck, and thanks allnurses for all you do.

Hey Beach and Westpalm,

Hi C, I did write a journal, either let me know your email address and I'll email it to you or you can read it on Sheri's Facebook page. There are alot of details about my CPNE on there and maybe it will help ease your fears about it. I can't stress enough what WP is saying, the CPNE is not this horrible exam, I had nightmares about it for months and my nightmares were 100% worse than what it really was. It really is doable, and when you show the CE's you are prepared they are in your corner. There was more than one time that they could have failed me for something small during a PCS but did a little ahem or lurched forward from their chair and it was a reminder that I needed to watch it. For my one patient that I was assigned comfort measures the CE got all the oral care stuff and sheets out and ready for me and gloved up and helped me clean poop. They all hugged me after I passed and the CA I can't say enough about her she was like such a mommy she made me feel comfortable the minute I met her.

I know it's easy to say for me because I'm done with it but it is a doable exam. The nerves are the hardest part.

Good luck to you :-)

Thank you so much for your words of wisdom. my email is [email protected].

Take care!

Check your e-mail :-) I remember you were getting ready to apply for CPNE, did you get your date?

WOW!! Just read your journal, thank you so much for sharing. Yes, my date is October 21st-October 23rd in Albany at Albany Medical Center. I am so nervous and excited at the same time. More nervous though.

Take care,
