Not on this forum, apparently. Have you checked the EPN, specifically the CPNE journal site? You might have better luck there, because here we're not all EC students, and Queens is a newer site.
yea, i just read one.....just wanted to see if there were anymore out there. thanks

I never once attended a workshop, i was stuck home with play doe's (diff colors), gauze and an IV bag with needless syringes. I went through my CPNE just like that (snap) lol. I mean like everyone else yeah you get nervous at the begining and all but those mneumonics really helps especially when you write them down before begining. My fav was the Australian guy (I glove I glove CDS AO) for the IV station just couldnt get it out of my mind...lol. Please make use of that 15min during labs. It helped alot. I quickly went to the wound station to practice packing the wound on the manequin. I got soo used to the play doe wound home and I wanted to do the real thing. It was great. My Mosby's 2nd edition was all tagged and possible goals with interventions highlighted.(its allowed) as long as there are no mneumonics written in it . Blue for all resp DX , Red for Peripheral DX, Yellow for pain DX and Orange for all other Risk DX. Believe me this worked out soo well. All my patients fell in the Acute pain categories. This worked out beautifully. I was done with my planing phase in about 5min. Trust me you can never go wrong with Acute pain and Ineffective airway clearance and oh yeah Risk for injury. Most pt's fall under these categories or if not are at risk. The examiners are really there to do their job. I mean if you appear confident you wont have a problem. These patients are human beings and need to be treated as such. I mean you may feel that oh the book says this that etc... but how would you want to be treated if you were in their shoes? I mean all these things are silently observed by these examiners (body language, attitude etc..). I always went in thinking how fast and well i can do this. With this thought in mind believe me the CE sitting or standing over you will not even matter. I always completed the evaluation phase with about 10-15 min to spare. The excelsior EPN can be resourceful at times. The CPNE is not bad believe me. The Queens site rocks (NPAC). Fast to get a test date, nice staff, and nice CE's. Remember your confidence brings out the niceness in these CE's Good Luck.
Congrats!!! How fast did u get the date since application of cpne......man I just have to kick myself into gear and finish my exams
Sorry, I got that answer on the other thread.....please disregard last msg, thank you and congrats again
Rob you are the best. Rob's dvd's were awsome oh God. I thank God sooo much for him. That $40 dollars spent did pay off believe me guys. Rob is the best. Everything you need to know, his mneumonics are so easy to remember and very interesting too. All i had was watching Rob on tv. His Ebooks are awsome too. He usually emails that to you after purchasing the DVD's.I used the AOC and lab sim dvd. Money well spent. Trust me. Had no time for all the xtra stuff cmon we spent enough already. All you need is the basics as to what is expected and Prayer. Confidence is the key. You can never go wrong with Acute Pain and ineffective airway clearance, just keep it simple and you will be out in no time. the queen npac site rocks! its fairly new. Small chats with the CE's helped too. I mean you know talk about the hospital bla bla, weather whatever just to get yourself comfy. Remmeber small chats and smile smile smile atleast. lol. Good Luck guys, its not bad forget about all those neg stuff on EPN. had to close that for a week prior to the test cmon those stories get you soo nervous. The CPNE is not bad trust me. And yeah the CA really is not your advocate please, the only advocate is yourself, whatever the CE said was automatically accepted no room for negotiation. I witnessed that and to me that student should have been given another chance atleast.... cant really put it out here cos i dont know whose up on but believe me you are your ownn advocate. The staff there are soo nice. I mean they have other nursing students coming in so you really dont feel like all eyes are on you cause you are with excelsior bla bla all the others have on white also and so therfore these pt's are already familiar with students.... its a nice place and easy to get a test date.:yeah:
Rose, congratulations!!! :) Feels great, doesn't it?
