What to take? I am looking for any and all ideas for what to bring on this journey to my RN. I will be packing soon and wanted input from those of you who have made the trek. I would also like to hear what to leave behind. Anything that you hauled along and found useless. Generic advice of any kind also welcomed. Thanks all :)

All of your props for CPNE practice in your hotel room. Any notebooks or lists of study material, such as info obtained at workshops, flashcards of critical elements, etc. A light jacket or coat or heavier if going to a winter place with winter weather. The little stuff, pens and pencils, watch with sweeping second hand. Make sure you do a last minute check off. Terrible to be running late and find yourself at the airport without your driver's license!

There's actually a list in your guide, but added to that--
I'm staying in a hotel with a kitchen, an ironing board, and an iron. If you don't have those amenities, you might want your iron. I'm bringing my own food. If you take medication, don't forget it! Do you have a favorite pillow? If so, you might want that. A roll of quarters is always good. Bring your own glass to drink out of. Don't forget your cell phone charger. Music is good. My drug of choice is Motrin, or Tylenol if you prefer that. Don't rely on 1 credit card: bring another form of payment with you, so if your card won't work for some reason, you still have a way to buy gas.
Hope that helps!

Must have, Picture ID, nursing care plan book, watch with second hand, non programable calculator, drug book, white scrubs and shoes, pencils. All other things are comforts from home, as for study material, bring what every you need to survive( by the time you leave, you should know it like the back of your hand). What ever you need wether it be prayer, meditation, exercise, rx, music, figure out now how you will deal with the stress because there will be stress!!! YOU can pass, but you need to control the stress.
Thanks everyone :)

and by the way, if it helps to bring a support person with you do so. we drove to Wisconsin from Michigan, and I really felt good knowing that when I came back to my room, whether good or bad news, i knew I had a loving familiar face waiting for me when i got back!!!!!!!!!

Take a calculator!!! One will NOT be provided for you!! (Yes, I learned that the hard way. In my program we were not allowed to use our own calculators, so I just got used to never bringing one with me.)
I actually took no study materials and just chilled out on my way there. I seem to be alone on that.
Whatever you do take, divide your luggage into two piles: things you MUST have (uniform, calculator, ID, care plan book, watch, medications) and things that you can live without (ie a change of clothes.) Make sure that you put the essentials is your carry on bag.
You don't want to be running around two hours before the CPNE starts in a new city trying to find a place to buy a new white uniform after the airline loses your luggage.
