Okay, I need some help!!! I started getting sick last week, came home with a headache, started having really bad head congestion, and nausea, spent 2-3 days, lying around feeling awful, worked sat & sun. The thing is, I have NOT practiced in a week!!! I can't seem to make myself practice. :uhoh21: I was doing sooo good. Every night I would work on something, either reading parts of the study guide, or walk throughs, or PCS scenarios, and now nothing. zip, zilch, nada. I have a test date for Jan. 9, 10,11, @ Grady Memorial in Atlanta, Ga. I don't feel anything, no fear, no pressure, nothing. zip, my motivation is gone:no:. It has be exactly 7 days now, and I feel like, whatever. This is soooo not me!! I'm always like super over prepared. Kinda anal, (even though the truth hurts). Help, gimme a good'ole a** kicking or :argue:something!!! Anyone else, had a "mental hiatus" :bugeyes:while preparing????

After Thanksgiving get back to it.
Take a break. You were sick, the holidays are coming, and you're probably burned out. A crispy critter, more than likely.
Give yourself permission for a break until the weekend.

I agree with Sue. Hit it hard after Thanksgiving. You have come this far, and you can't stop now...I will not even become eligible until Feb. or Mar., but I can imagine the sensation you are feeling. I have been so anal, and I have test anxiety which can be good or bad...right now it keeps me on my feet for the exams, but I could see me doing the same as you regarding to CPNE practice. Enjoy Thanksgiving...Have a happy one, and then we will give you a good old fashioned A** Kicking if you then need more motivation. LOL! YOU WILL DO THIS BECAUSE YOU WANT IT THAT BAD!!! Traci

*hugs* T, I agree ... give yourself a break and some time to recuperate!!
I definitely took time away from CPNE studies. I went on a weeklong vacation to my home state (Oregon) in April, less than 2 months before my CPNE, and I didn't do much of any studying while I was on vacation! I think everyone needs a break from it sometimes.

Yes... I would have a week or 2 now and then when I just couldn't study during my CPNE prep. Too busy, too scared, too burned out. So take that time off and then set a day that you will jump back in and do it.

Write the date that you choose to return to preparing for the CPNE on a calendar in big letters. If you need to, make yourself a sign with the amount of money that you have spent for the CPNE written in big letters on it and post this sign next to your calendar. You want to be able to see every time you look at the calendar a reminder of what you will be throwing away if you let this slide. Get back to it after the holiday. Soon it will be over. Oh, and you might put on your calendar the date you will have your big celebration when you find out you have passed! Now that should provide motivation!
