Hi, my name is Donna. I am scheduled to take NC 5 next week. My advisor told me I need to finish all the NC's by mid to late June at the latest to get a CPNE date in time to finish program within Md's cut-off date. Are you waiting to take the CPNE now?

Hi-yes I am waiting to take it in July 2007. You really need to finish it b/c we have to graduate by Dec 2007-meaning pass the CPNE too. The MD BON will not accredit Excelsior after that...something to do prob w/ the no. f clinical hours we have. That's why when I found out this year 2 months ago...I studied like there was no tomorrow, having no choice but to pass all of the NC exams.
I can help you study if you want. What review materials do you have? I have the College Network and Lisa Arends (from EBAY)...both very good reviewers.

I am using Chancellors and the Arends cd's, I am also reading from the textbooks the recommended readings. Have you gone to any of the workshops? I am thinking about signing up for Lynne's workshop in Charlotte, N.C. in July. They say the workshops fill up fast so I need to decide soon.

Hi-thought about attending Lynne's workshop, but can't take time off anymore. I enrolled for the EC workshop-and that's in the middle of the week, so that is already 1 week off work.
Other people say EC workshop is a better one to attend since they practice you for the actual tests too.
When are you taking the NC 5 exam?
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I have been working and studying the last few days. I'm of this weekend and am devoting it to studies only. I test on Tues. for NC 5. I'm always a mess the few days before an exam. I can't remember a thing, or so it seems but once I start the exam I'm ok.
As for workshops, I have found that on the yahoo groups very little is mentioned about EC's workshop. It seems most of the talk is about Lynn's. I had really almost forgotten about EC's. It does make sense though to go to the one by EC since they will be giving the actual exam. When do you attend the workshop, and where are you going to take it?

Hello everyone. I have a question for whomever can or is wiling to answer this. What do you plan on doing once you have completed the nursing program at EC. Do you intend on taking the boards in VA or DC? Do you plan on commuting into DC or VA to work. I ask these questionbecause I want to attend EC but want some realistic goals once I have obtained my degree. Please PM me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just finished Lynn's workshop in NC. Live in the midwest so I will be testing in Madison for my CPNE.
Would 2months be a feasible amount of time to prepare? I plan to go on the cancellation list for February 08. One weakness of mine is that I have all the book knowlege in the world but no clinical experience.
Need someone's advice out there what I should focus on for skills.
Thanks to you all for your help in advance.
