Schedule questions for CDCR

  1. So very new to CDCR and not sure if making right choice. After 25 years ER starting new job on 1/9/17. Big pay cut....they don't count your experience😢😡 Everyone gets started at same starting rate. I have been told that you are essentially guaranteed a 5% raise every year until maxed out, is that true? Will take me about three years to catch up.

Real question though is schedule. I have heard the swap 16-16-8 rumor and really, that is the only way this works for me. Is it essentially guaranteed? I need the overtime also so to only have to work three days a week that would help. Commute is about 1 1/2 hours🤕😕, Don't want to be doing that 5 days a week. Strangest job ever to take and have no idea what you are going to do lol.

I sort of understand what you are saying. Yoursaying, with the commute you origionally want days as you have a long commute. Your saying 16 hours weekend? and 5 days a week with 8 hours,.I would agree but for 26 hrs on weekend? with commute of 1 and 1/2 hours would give you little time to rest,When you say 16-16-8 is
    2--- 16 hour days and 5,. 8 hour days?
