ANY advice, comments, opinions, recommendations, etc. would be VERY appreciated!
Hi, everyone! =)
I am a senior in high school, and I will graduate in June. After much consideration, I have decided that I would really like to become a Registered Nurse. I am currently looking at colleges and universities in my area that offer the ASN program, but, unfortunately, most are only offering BSN programs.
While I didn't really expect to find one, I was surprised to discover that Kaplan University offers an online program for the ASN degree. It seems promising, but, unfortunately, it is now only available for residents of Florida. They are working on licensing with each state, but the ASN degree program will not be available in my state any time soon.
Therefore, I was wondering if any of you knew of an online school where I may earn my ASN? There are only two school that I can find in my area of Nashville, TN which offer the ASN program, and I am afraid of earning my general education credits with an emphasis on Nursing, and not gaining entrance to a program at a later date. I really want to become a nurse, but, unfortunately, I do not have time to wait for years in order to gain entrance into an RN program. Any advice, what should I do? =\
P.S. There are a multitude of technical schools that offer a 1-Year LPN program. While I would like to earn my RN degree, could this be a good option? Should I earn my general requirement credits for an ASN before entering an LPN course? Should I just go straight for the ASN degree? Hmm..has anyone been in a similar situation as to this one? X)

Also, it is likely that I will return to school in order to earn my BSN, but I am taking this one step at a time. =)
