Confused on how to retake exam

Published

i got a letter last week saying i did not pass the nclex-pn the first time:crying2:. i also got a yellow application for retaking the exam. it says to mail the letter and $150. then in about 3-4 weeks i have to pay another $200 bucks when i schedule my exam?

could i apply online instead of mailing the application? i tried to apply online but it says pay $200 bucks. im confused:confused:. can someone help? i want to take the exam asap because my qbank questions from kaplan expires in about a month and a half

You have to send the application for examination in the mail to the Board of Nursing with the fee of $150. Then once they let you know that you are cleared to re-take (usually that takes 3-4 weeks), you can register with PearsonVue to take the actual examination. PearsonVue's fee is $200 to sit for the exam. Two separate fees with two separate places, totaling $350. Unfortunately, there is no way to apply online with the board, so you just have to wait the 3-4 weeks for approval.

I'm in the same boat. I mailed my letter for re-application on 7/28 and I'm still waiting for approval from the board. :smackingf

Also remember you have to wait a certain period of time before you can resit the exam, most states require 45 days although some it is 90 days
