hi, its me again :)
I am confused about hip fracture question. When hip fracture present, is there external or internal rotation of the leg? One book said external and another internal.
Do you know what is right?
Thanks

Patients who have a hip fracture usually present with external rotation and shortening of the affected limb.
Thanks for the help, now i dont have to have that doubt:)

the leg will be externally rotated and shortened and you don't want to abduct the leg until after the surgery and that is only based on what specifically the procedure that is done. Sometimes after just and ORIF you don't need to whereas a hemiarthroplasty you need to. It just depends on the procedure and the surgeon. Good luck with your test. :)
