Confused about Certifications - EMT, BLS, and NRP

I am a pre-nursing student going now (also) for an EMT course. I will be taking my state exam in June. I will be accepting a position which requires that I maintain a BLS and NRP certification. I was wondering if my EMT certification covers these and supersedes them or if the training is different and I have to take a BLS course and NRP course in addition to my EMT-B course. Thank your in advance to anyone who can offer any clarification on the topic.

BLS is usually a pre-req or co-req for EMT. You need a BLS CPR card with AED.

In my state if you don't have a valid BLS CPR card your EMT-B card is automatically invalid until you are current with CPR

NRP (neonatal resuscitation) is definitely not covered in EMT-B and is a separate credential

Thank you, JustBeachyNurse, for clarifying. I already completed my BLS CPR and AED portion of my EMT class, but was told that I will only be certified after completing my EMT certification. I didn't realize I will receive a separate BLS card. Thank you for the heads-up about NRP. (Though we do touch on neonatal resuscitation in EMT, I guess it is not as comprehensive as NRP courses.) I will look out for a proper NRP course so that I will have the right certification.

NRP is usually a speciality cert that people in NICU or flight medics and nurses have. However I have been offered to take it as a paramedic. I didnt take it...We have to have PALS...and I think I had to work that day but it was taught by our local flight crew/agency. As far as the other cert it is lumped in with cpr now for AHA. Some places are calling it different things but healthcare provider bls aed cpr...its all one class.
