Hey,

Thank you for your post. Can I please know how difficult the program is ? Is the program doable ? Can I work part time ? How many students are there in a class. I am concerned as I am already doing an ABSN which is really awful.I just completed my first semester and half of the class failed and I don't want to continue to their summer semester which is even more crazy.I appreciate your help if you could help me clarify my concerns. Thanks

The program is quite doable, the first semester is the toughest. Do not work in the fall semester. I did babysit every Saturday throughout the entire program which worked out well working one day a week. Once you get to the Summer semester you can pick up a part time job. That being said the program will recommend not working at all- there are students that work full time but suffer in class. You have to find a balance that works for you. Some students just study for the classes at hand and other students are studying for their current classes and for the NCLEX at the same time.

I came in with a 3.5 and am successful so far in the program. You will meet 4 times a week in the beginning and eventually will have a few classes online. The medical surgical rotation has a 12 hour rotation in the hospital and after med-surg is completed clinicals are 8 hours in specialties. The program started with about 100 students and we are now down to about 65/70 (I'm not sure on the exact number) but this is due to some students dropping out due to financial reasons, family life, or they weren't successful in their academics.

There were about 25 students in each class and no more than 6 students in clinical rotations.

Any other questions??

Feel free to ask

Hi!

I was also accepted for the Fall 2014 Accelerated program. I lived in NYC, then came home to Atlanta to knock out core classes quickly, am a freelance wedding photographer in New York, and coming back to start the program come August. Still working out loans (bleh), and finding a place to live.

It doesn't seem like there is space for me to live on campus. It would be amazing if anyone knows of a room I can rent for the 15 months in the program near Bronxville. I have done my research and know Bronxville itself is quite expensive.

Quite nervouse about diving in but also excited.

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Hey guy, i am working on my package to get in for fall 2015, i missed the fall 2014 by one pre req, but now i have all my pre reqs with a 3.5 GPA. Anyone in the accelerated program at concordia or applying like myself have any advice for prospective students. how competitive is the admission process, please any info will help. Thanks guys and good luck.

Hello for College of Mount Saint Vincent nursing program what's the minimum gpa for the BA degree for the accelerated program. And what classes did you need to have

thanks

Hi!

I am in the second week of the accelerated BSN at Concordia. It is already ALOT and its just going to get more intense so be prepared to work! :) :)

When I knew I wanted Concordia, I visited the campus, and Erik (the person you will be corresponding with) took me around. I got A's in the prerequisites, had a few good recommendations and hopefully did well in the interview. If your grades look pretty good and you show eagerness, I think you have a great chance of getting accepted. Its hard to tell why they take some and not others, so I always encourage to try and develop a rapport with the school.

Renzwi,

I need advice from you if you wouldn't mind.

Ive recently applied to mount saint Vincent's accelerated nursing program and was wondering how competitive they are.

I am a little concerned about my chances of acceptance based on their gpa requirements. Though such, my grades for their pre Reqs are quite well.

O chem1/2- A's

A&P 1/2- A's

Microbiology- B

Overall GPA- 2.93 - this concerns me!

the A&P and Micro were taken as a non matric. as I am now waiting for a decision.

Any advice or suggestions would GREATLY BE APPRECIATED. Thanks so much.
