Hello. I'd like to know if anyone knows of any complaints filed against the board of vocational nursing, in regards to the nclex pn? I was reading about how they come up with the questions and how they grade it, and quiet frankly i think the whole test and process is a load of *%$#@. Ive taken the test 4times, and failed. My results always include the useless paper telling me that in all subjects, i was ABOVE AVERAGE. yet I failed? There is so much material to study, there are many resources such as books, classes, flash cards etc. But it is all irrelevant. The questions do not correspond to the material available to study. I feel as if the test is created in such way that the state is able to find yet another way to s%$#@ us for money. I passed the nursing course, Ive done all my clinical hours, I even have letters from nursing directors telling me what a great "nurse" I am. This test is a joke. I plan on writting a letter to Sacramneto to the BVN of Ca. This is absurd.

Rather than complaining you should focus on why you can't critically analyze the questions and apply the information you supposedly learned in clinical and theory...your complaint suggests an obvious disconnect

I recently just read a few of the forums here. The test is only testing you for minimum competency (does not expect you to know everything) and you need to be above 50% to pass. Also reading at the "statistics" i do not know why the percentages for repeat is lower. I am not sure if the test gets harder every time you retest.
I found the link here

Wow! Above average on everything and you still failed??? are you sure????? I would call the boards and check with them...
Do you get anxious during the exam?
I mean, if you read my post I'm not the brightest student... yet, I passed the NCLEX RN with 75 questions... I would say you probably can pass it, maybe the content that came up on all your exams were stuff you didn't know... but had you been tested on materials you actually did study you would pass. Sometimes its really just luck on what questions you get... But I can understand the frustration but I think you should really think about concentrating on critical test taking skills... honestly, I did not have a good hold of content material but I could critically think and take exams... I think if you KNOW how to take the exams you will be more solid than knowing the materials... well that's what worked for me. Because I hate reading books and I never did read a book in college...
Took my test today and pass on the first try. I got the good pop up from the PVT. The test was doable Kaplan prepared me. I only used saunders and kaplan for content.
