Hello!
I am trying to investigate where/what to do for my community health clinical for my BSN. We are supposed to identify a target population and a problem in that population to create a project with... I am at a loss right now. Does anyone have any ideas on where/what I could do? If it helps, I live in the Denver area.
Thank you for your input!

Do you have a local Covenant House or similar shelter for homeless teens? I have done volunteer work with them in my area & it was a wonderful experience. Their residents have many health care needs & they are always glad to have more helping hands with everything from coaching new teen moms in babycare to education about STDs or nutrition - eating disorders are disturbingly common in this population.

Obesity is likely the best population to look at. You can talk to multiple people on the diet side, the exercise side, adults, kids. It's a massive problem, and my community health students tend to get the most mileage out of this one. Look for something broad in scope- lots more to work with.
