does it look better if I took classes from a community college or a 4 year university and then applying to an accelerated nursing program like direct entry msn program?

Completely depends on the school you're applying to and the one you're coming from. Some schools have better reputations.

Probably doesn't matter that much as long as you get excellent grades. I went in and talked to the top nursing program in my area about my chances for admission after a year at one school, transferring to community college, and doing an Associate's Degree there after having been home schooled my entire life. She took one look at my mess of an educational history and told me I was an excellent candidate for admission simply because I had straight A's throughout college.
