Has anyone applied for College of Mainland nursing program for Fall 2015?

Hello you all. I have been reading your comments since this process has begun and I too was accepted into the program for this session. I am now confused on the background check process and still haven't received my second email. I called earlier and when someone finally answered I told Estela that I only received the accidental email and not the correct one; so she said she'd resend it but hasn't. Are the background checks different (dec. order and clinical) do we have to pay separately for both? I guess it would be helpful had I gotten my second email. Congratulations to everyone accepted!!

Yes they are different. The fast pass is the BON where you haft to do fingerprinting and its due by 6/11. The second background check is for COM and clinicals and is due by 6/26. And then there is a separate random drug test.

@trinatrt thanks for your reponse. Well I'm glad that you told me about the deadlines because I had no clue of them. Will the fast pass automatically be submitted to the school or something because I'm going to do that tomorrow? Then how do I go about doing the other one for COM? I'm hoping she sends me the email tomorrow!!

Also when you say it's due by 6/11 & 6/26 does that mean we have to have submitted the documents for the background check etc. and now they're being processed or that they should've been completed already? TxBON says it takes 30 days to complete and COM says as long as it's completed by the start of the program, so I'm confused and the anxiety is setting in. HELP!! I need Jesus!!

When she sends you the email there will be a link for both of them. For the fast pass you go in and do the fingerprint and they send it to the BON, if anything comes back they will notify you.

They must be submitted by that date

I am so excited about orientation. I hope to get more information this week about who has accepted or declined their spots so us alternates have a wonderful opportunity. :up:

Just looked on the sign up for acceptances and saw that 53 slots are filled and 1 person declined. That means an alternate spot is now open! Hope one of you alternates on here gets it! :)
