When I was in high school I was in all CP classes (college prep), sometimes I think other schools called it AP (advanced placement).
Now I am enrolled to start with WGU 2/1/12 but they are making me take all 3 math classes and statistics along with most of the other courses not transferred by my AAS
However, I'm wondering if anyone has college credits from high school and if you had a problem getting your college to accept them as transfer credits? Of course everyone is on vacation for new years so I have to wait to call my H.S to figure this out.

I took AP German, AP English, and AP History in high school and ended up earning 12 college credits before I even set foot on my university campus. However, I also took the AP exams that corresponded with those classes, and passed those exams -- that is why I got the credit, not just by virtue of taking the classes. Did you take the AP exams?

They didn't have this when I was young. We could get college credit by actually taking college courses while in high school but there was no AP stuff. My granddaughter told me that she can not get college credit for her AP courses unless she takes and does well, on the AP exams at the end. Did you have your AP credit entered onto transcripts at a college? I would think that might be the problem.
I believe you can probably get AP transcripts from the CollegeBoard folks -- same that do CLEP and the SAT as well. I remembered that their name was on my AP credit transcripts from long ago:

So if I took the AP tests in HS, the collegeBoard would have record of that? I can't remember if I did or not. I know that when I went for my associates degree, I did NOT have to take any algebra, reading or anything like that and a lot of my other friends did.
They should. If you look down this page under "Archived AP Scores," there is a link to a transcript request for anything older than 4 years.
Thanks, I'm not sure if I did these tests. Is this something that would have been done at the high school? If you were enrolled in a CP class would you automatically have taken it? Part of me is thinking I may have never even took the test. Though I was in a lot of CP classes. I'm worried I'll have to take all these classes

Keep in mind colleges also have placement tests. At least at my school it doesn't matter what level you went up to in HS. If you took Calculus in high school, but only placed into intermediate algebra, then you are stuck retaking a ton of math classes.
My granddaughter said that you choose to take the exam, it is not mandatory, unless you want college credit. When you don't take the test, you only get the high school credit and associated extra grade points. You would probably remember if you took this exam. It has a fee attached to it and your teacher would have made a big deal about it.
Our AP exams were optional. We took ours at the high school, but that's also because we were in Germany and didn't have testing centers or anything like that. You might try calling them to see if they can pull up your info. I agree with caliotter -- you probably would have remembered taking these exams, they were like mini-SATs and not much fun... lots of prep and study.
Darn, I probably didn't take them. I graduated 1.5 years early in H.S....unfortunately college was not something I ever thought about doing at that time (stupid me!) So my guess is I probably never took them

taking a college prep class is not the same as taking an ap class, per se. technically, you get credit for taking an ap class and doing well on the test because it's considered a college level class, not just a college prep class. i know that when i got my ba, my ap tests were submitted, so my credits are actually on my transcript from my bachelor's degree. i did take several ap classes where i did not take the ap test (essentially my whole senior year was ap classes, but i missed a month of school d/t mono, so i only took select tests), so i did not get any college credit for those classes in which i did not take the test.
