Nurses Union

I have decided that if I were ever in a union I would want Liam Neeson (as his character in TAKEN, and TAKEN 2) as my union representative. By gawd, he'd get the job done!

Do you have anyone you would like to have be your representative?

The only union rep I'll accept:

Oh, Red - you win! :cheeky::yes::roflmao:

I remember reading, many years ago, about the nurses at a hospital somewhere, it might have been CA, who organized and affiliated with the Teamsters (this was long before the days of NNU or even SEIU). When the nurses went on strike, the area Teamsters showed up with bricks and baseball bats to walk the picket lines with them. All the local delivery truck drivers (Teamsters) were refusing to cross the picket lines to make any deliveries to the hospital. And when it was time to sit down and negotiate, Teamsters negotiators and attorneys showed up in the management offices with the nursing union representatives and explained to the hospital administration that the nurses were part of the Teamsters -- when the nurses were unhappy, the Teamsters were unhappy and that was not going to work out well for the hospital. The strike got settled pretty quickly

I've always treasured the memory of those images ... :) It pays to pick your friends wisely ...

And that kind of violent thuggery, of which my mother was a direct victim, is why I will never join a labor union. And you think that's not only acceptable, but laudable?

PS this was supposed to be a humor thread.
