COCHRAN School of Nursing

Hi All,:lol2:

Anyone attending, planning to attend or have graduated from this program?

I am interested in apply for the evening program. I wanted some feedback about what is required for admission. How difficult is the TEAS exam? How is the evening program there? I will be commuting from brooklyn, so I would also need to know how doable is the commute?

Thanks a bunch :monkeydance:

I just began my 1st semester at CSON. Thus far I only have positive things to say and everyone in my class is passing so far.

I found the TEAS exam to be rather difficult & I did not do very well in the math portion and I was still accepted into the incoming class. Your best bet is to study, study, study. Cochran seems to look at your whole portfolia when deciding on admissions if you did well on your pre-reqs and do well on your Teas you should be able to get in.

Plenty of people in our freshman class commute from BK. It is not a long drive about 30 minutes. Hope I answered most of your ques.

Good Luck!

Hi,

I am in my senior course and i will be graudate in Jan08. School has very good raputation and it is little hard to commute from brooklyn. I live in Dyker Height Brooklyn and most of the time I leave my home early morning to avoid the traffic. If you need any help in math, let me know.

Thank you for your response. How hard was the TEAS exam? I am schedule to take it in november. I am petrified of the math portion.Any suggestions?

when i started this school, they had NET exam. You just need basic math, decimal, percentage and good grip in english. Do not worry. you will pass this exam and next year you will be in school.

Hi,

I hope you can help me with a question. I recently sent my documents to the school and was told that it may be too late for the spring evening semester. Do you know if they call students on a roll in basis. what I mean is if a student reject an acceptance, will they call another to replace that student? I am frustrated because I may have lost a chance for jan08 because my HS sent my transcript just this week. I am hoping that I still have a chance.

thanks in advance.

I remember when I started at Cochran, there was a student that was accepted with me. But something happen that she had to postpone her acceptance until the next semester. So the school gave her acceptance seat to someone else. So yes, keep your fingers cross.

Thanks Tabrown1, I hope that I get a call soon.

Hi everyone,

I hope you do not mind me asking you this question. I had my interview with CSN last thursday, During the interview the interviewer said I was a direct admit since my total points were so high. Now here is the problem, I applied for the January admission. Do you know if they call other students if someone does not accept their admission. Also, How is the program?

Thank in advance

Hi I also applied to Cochran and had my interview last Tuesday. Have been anxious ever since waiting to find out whether I am in. The person who interviewed liked me and unofficial told me I was go as in but she has to meet with the committee. I was told i would not know anything until after the 17th. I just hope that either program day or evening will have spots left for me to get in. I am tempted to call them to get an undate but otherwise just here waiting anxiously. I understand how you feel. What were you told, Triple A's?

hi Saana,

During the interview I was told that I am what they call a direct admit, which means that if space was available I would be a shoe in. But the interviewer, told me that the commitee has a meeting on the 13th or 14th of this month, I can't remember right now, but I should know something before the holiday. So basically it seems to me that admittion at this time will be done providing someone were to decline the acceptance. Did your interviewer tell you whether or not they were seats still available?
