Published

I am a US citizen with US citizen daughter and INDIAN citizen husband

want to move permanently to Canada. I am a CNA. How is it possible for us to move there? How to get the process started or am I even eligible?

my husband is certified in HVAC. (Heating and Air Conditioning). Please help thanx

Have you and your husband looked at the information on the Canadian Immigration and Citizenship (cic.gc.ca) website to determine if you are eligible to immigrate to Canada?

Iv looked. Theres soo much information there. If someone has done it would like the help

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Really CIC website is your best bet and see if you can look at pr with your husbands skill set. Unfortunately CNA will not meet skilled requirements

Your husband can find out if Canada has a need for HVAC technicians and the employment requirements by searching 'HVAC' on the National Occupational Classification (NOC) section of CIC. Some provinces may require compulsory trade certification and some may have voluntary certification. It might be easier to find employment in provinces that have voluntary certification, as it may be difficult for a foreign educated technician to become certified in a province that has compulsory certification.

His studies r from USA. He is just not a citizen of USA. does this make a dofference?

Even if his studies are US, they are considered foreign education and might not be equivalent to Canadian studies and certification requirements, for example an American HVAC program would not include the provincial HVAC laws and codes.

Do you have a preference as to which province you want to live in?

Any. It does not matter. BC or any. Just want to get out of usa. Need help to apply and get the process started

There is a lot of information on the CIC website, most people follow the instructions on the CIC website one step at a time so that they do not become overwhelmed by the information. Some people also look for tips on a immigration forum called Canadavisa.com

You and your husband will need proof of funds in order to be financially prepared to support yourselves when first settling in Canada, you can check the CIC website for the current amount, (it may be $30,000 Canadian).
